Assistant General Manager – Roles & Responsibilities
*Job Description *
The Assistant General Manager will report directly to the General Manager.
You will maintain a high quality of store operations while ensuring customer satisfaction and exceptional food quality.
You will implement and enforce all Z’Mariks policies and procedures with the staff while promoting Z’Mariks culture and environment.
The majority of your time will be spent maintaining and developing your staff.
You will lead and motivate the Z’Mariks team by providing excellent training, supervision, and feedback.
You will document staff training, reviews, and termination documents as directed by Corporate.
Frequent communication with the General Manager and Corporate, both written and verbal, is required.
*Roles & Responsibilities: * *~ Include but are not limited to the following: * * Working five days a week and a minimum of 45 hours per week o Must work a minimum of five hours per day * Assist in managing a staff of one or two shift managers and an adequate amount of employees * Ensuring high quality of all aspects of food preparation * Making certain every dish is cooked correctly * Maintaining and monitoring our speed of service * Attending to all customer needs, requests, and complaints * Interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing of all management and staff * Termination of employees with support of the General Manager * Weekly scheduling, including scheduling of training, reviews, office time, staff meetings, etc.
* Monitoring labor costs o Includes verification of scheduled hours vs.
actual hours worked o Identifying how many employees are needed throughout the day * Distribute staff raises when appropriate and update Toast to reflect raise & notify corporate and accounting * Ordering * Performing monthly inventory * Preparing weekly and monthly reports accurately and ensuring the accuracy of all reports prepared by your staff * Making sure all shifts are covered and covering shifts personally as needed * Always being available to answer questions from your management team o Must have a reliable phone and respond to staff phone calls and questions in a reasonable amount of time * Taking care of office work on a daily basis o E.

Emailing tax documents to the accountant, maintaining employee files, price checking invoices, applying for credits, etc.
* Distribution of tip money with input from your management team * Keeping facility supplies stocked o E.
g.
employee applications, office supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.
* Having full knowledge of the repair & maintenance of the store o i.
e.
, changing air filters, minor plumbing repair, monitoring refrigeration temperatures, etc.

General Manager – Physical Job Requirements *Physical Job Requirements * ▪ Ability to work on your feet 45+ hours/week for up to thirteen hours per day ▪ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
▪ Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment for long periods of time o Includes working on a wok-range that uses hot oils & working with a hot pasta cooker full of boiling water.
▪ Ability to work with and move all kinds of different kitchen equipment ▪ Ability to sweep and mop entire restaurant (floor type will vary depending on restaurant site) ▪ Ability to safely use and sharpen several kitchen knifes ▪ Ability to safely work on wet surfaces o No-slip shoes are strongly recommended I have read and fully understand what is expected of me in the Assistant Manager Roles & Responsibilities, Pay & Benefits & Physical Job Requirements listed in this document.

If the employee is terminated during this time, the paid days off will be reimbursed back to the company.
Five paid days off will be earned every six months, or 10 days a year.
Unused vacation days will not carry over into the next year nor will the employee be paid for any unused days.
When the employee reaches their 4 year anniversary, they will earn an additional 2.
5 days off per six months or a total of 15 days off per year.
*Sick * Eligible employees will earn 5 paid sick days after one year of employment.
Sick days may not be used for any reason other than being ill.
A doctor’s note may be required.
*Family and Medical Leave Act * Employees who have been employed for at least 12 months will be granted 8 weeks off.
The first week will be paid while the remaining 7 weeks will be unpaid.
Eligible reasons are as follows: Birth of a Child To care for a spouse, son, daughter, or parent who has a serious health condition A serious health condition of the employee rendering him/her incapable of performing the functions of his/her job.
*Paternity * Eligible employees will be granted five paid days off immediately following the birth of their child/children.
*Civic Absence * Employees will be granted a leave without pay for jury duty, a witness in a legal proceeding, or military reserve duty.
Advanced notice is required.
*Bereavement * An employee who suffers through the loss of an immediate family member’s death will have 5 paid days off to be used immediately and in consecutive days before or after the death.
Immediate family members are as follows: parents, brothers/sisters, spouse, and children.
*Personal Leave of Absence * The company may grant an unpaid leave of absence for five days during a calendar year.
The unpaid days off may not be used in conjunction with any other benefit.
All other benefits must be exhausted before use.
