One of these "helper" springs will ease the muscle needed to manually lift the attached tiller, snowblower or blade on your 1968-1974 "flat fender" John Deere 110 or 112 garden tractor.
The two springs in the pictures are the same, but the lower assembly has a mounting bracket for the earlier tractors, and the upper assembly is for later tractors with a right side brake pedal.
The lower spring and bracket exactly fits John Deere model 110 tractors serial number 115,698-271,999, and model 112 tractors serial number 130,001-260,000.
Two pictures show the spring mounted on a parts tractor with this serial number range.
The spring will work on lower serial number tractors down to 100,001 that have an optional hook bracket installed for the front end of the spring.
The upper assembly fits tractors with serial numbers larger than the listed ranges.
These later tractors with a right brake pedal require a taller rear mounting bracket in order for the spring to clear the brake cross shaft.
There is a new bolt on each
assembly with nuts to serve as a tension limit.
The springs have fresh paint, and each spring assembly is priced at $40.
Although the JD 110, 112, and 200 series tractors do have many parts in common, these springs will not work on the 200 series tractors.
