The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking a Clinical HC Research to perform clinical/health care research activities related to Computed Tomography (CT).
Assuring study protocol(s) compliance and serves as a primary contact for clinical centers in multi-center research studies.
Other job requirements will include organization of data, collection and organization of relevant journal publications.
Assist in testing and evaluating current procedures, to include judging the validity of experimental test data obtained.
Characteristics Duties and Responsibilities Research/Clinical Activities: • Perform clinical/health care research activities related to, Advanced Dual Energy Computed Tomography (CT)• Prepare and participate in monitoring visits; may perform activities such as patient assessments and review of medical history.
• Assure compliance with study protocol.
• Obtain and process clinical trial specimens.
• Dispense study-related medications and document effects.
Protocol Development and Study Responsibilities: • Assist in protocol development and provide input into descriptions of routine CT research procedures.
• Assist with Physiologic Imaging Research Facility development related to administrative duties including billing and scheduling.
• Serves as a primary contact for clinical centers in multi-center research studies.
• Develop study materials – serving to train imaging sites.
• Assure study protocol compliance of CT data receipt by the Imaging Laboratory.
Subject Recruitment and Enrollment: • Screen, recruit, and obtain informed consents for clinical trials/studies .
• Assist principal investigator to determine subject eligibility.
• Schedule trial related procedures and visits.
• Assist with subject assessments during study participation.
Data Collection and Monitoring: • Perform CT qualitative and quantitative imaging.
• Collect and enter clinical research data required by the sponsors in a timely manner.
• Utilizes proprietary software for lung image analysis.
• Assist with determining validity of data obtained.
Regulatory Guidelines and Documents: • Assists with preparation of manuscripts for publication and/or presentation at national meetings.
• Collect and maintain regulatory documents from subjects and assist in preparation of required regulatory forms and documentation according to protocol.
• Maintains radiation safety compliance and documentation within the lab.
• Report any reportable events to appropriate party.
Human Resources/Leadership: • Adhere to institutional policies and guidelines.
• May provide functional and/or administrative supervision.
• Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.
Financial Responsibility: • Assist in budget development and management of resources/supplies for study.
• Contribute to identification of increased cost/inefficient spending and cost containment measures.

Changing Lives Percent of Time: 100% Schedule: The shift hours for this position are generally Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm but with flexibility depending on the CT schedule.
Call and holidays are not required, and weekend work is quite rare Pay Grade: 4A; The salary range is $50,000-60,000 depending on experience.

edu/pay/pay-plans/professional-and-scientific-pay-structure REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology education and completion of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in diagnostic Radiology.
Permit to practice in the State of Iowa for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to work independently with self motivation to complete the tasks at hand.
Must be proficient in computer software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
The ability to learn to efficiently use existing proprietary software.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Clinical and/or Basic Research Experience.
Experience with advanced imaging.
Experience in one or more of the following imaging modalities such as Computed Tomography Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT).
1—3 years of relevant experience.
