Position Description:
The University of Iowa, Division of Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a rheumatologist for a faculty position at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the clinical (non-tenure) or tenure track, depending on qualifications.
Patient care will occur at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa River Landing, and/or the affiliated Iowa City VA Medical Center.
This position is not eligible for university sponsorship for employment authorization.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.
Education Requirement:
Candidates must have an M.
D.
degree or equivalent.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must show completion of an ACGME accredited residency and fellowship program.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy interactions with students, staff, and faculty.
Certifications:
A board certification/eligibility in rheumatology is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in rheumatology is preferred.
The evidence of a commitment to clinical teaching, clinical research and/or outcomes research is desired.
High level of creativity with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as leadership and interpersonal strengths in relationships with colleagues, staff, and patients are desirable.
Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive culture in the workplace and academic environment is also preferred.
