Medcentrek is seeking a Radiology (X-RAY) Technologist to work at the IOWA VA Medical Center.
This position is for 6 months (4/1/24 - 9/30/24) in duration.
The position is for 40 hours per week.
Shift choices are from 7:00am - 3:30pm OR 9:30am - 6:00pm.
At least 20% of VA health care systems have a shortage in the labor market of clinical occupations, including physicians, registered nurses, psychologists, practical nurses, medical technologists, diagnostic radiologic technologists, social workers, nursing assistants, and medical technicians.
This position is in directly supports our Veteran's in getting the access to care they deserve!
```Duties:```
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and PET scans, as directed by physicians
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols
- Review images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
```Qualifications:```
- Valid certification as an X-ray Technician (ARRT) & BLS certification
- Proficient in performing diagnostic evaluations using X-ray technology
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Experience with additional imaging modalities such as CT scans, PET scans, or sonography is a plus
- Familiarity with physiology and the ability to interpret scan results accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
