The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Family Medicine is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to work at our (IRL-E Family Medicine Clinic in Coralville, Iowa) to function as an Advanced Practice Nurse and change agent incorporating the primary role of nurse practitioner and the supporting roles of consultant, educator, researcher, and administrator to support quality care and positive patient outcomes.
Duties to include:
Function independently and/or as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan, deliver and evaluate health care for a defined patient population.
Assure clinical competency and expertise in area of specialization.
Collaborate with nursing staff/nursing administration to monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care.
Perform medical diagnostic, therapeutic procedures, and prescribe, dispense, or deliver medications when a collaborative practice agreement is in place.

The department intends to hire either a Family Medicine Physician Assistant (requisition 23004368) or a Family Medicine Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (requisition 23004369) based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

Required Qualifications
Education: A Master’s degree is required.
A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
If Master’s degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required.
Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required.
Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience in a primary care environment providing care to adults and children is highly desirable.
Minimum of 1-year clinical experience after completion of ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner) training is highly desirable.
Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC is highly desirable.
2+ years’ experience in a primary care setting is desirable.
