The University of Iowa Neonatal Hemodynamics Program is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to advance our world-renowned program.
This person will contribute to the success of the program by engaging with local and international Physicians to enhance the educational, research, and clinical needs of the program along with the missions of our department.
This role will work with the director of the hemodynamics program and will provide administrative and managerial support.
Position Responsibilities:
Supports logistics for the program, including meeting and agenda coordination.
Meeting coordination includes but is not limited to echo lab efforts, provider learning sessions (internal and external including international), speaker arrangements for internal and external conferences, "observerships" & trainee visits, research collaborator visits, simulator updates and maintenance, nursing educational sessions, and hemodynamics clinical team meetings.
Supports additional daily operations of the program and associated projects, which include but are not limited to coordinating specialized events and activities, arranging travel, managing expenditures, overseeing contract or grant requirements, and monitoring changes in policies and procedures.
Manage the hemodynamic fellowship program.
This includes but is not limited to leading fellowship recruitment, arranging onboarding activities, and maintaining documents to uphold the program’s (and respective fellows) administrative compliance.
Prepare program grants and support submission.
Oversee the program expenses to meet fiscal year expense budgets.
Collect, analyze, maintain, and provide information on various program activities.
Develop and coordinate internal and external communications in conjunction with leadership.
May serve as liaison to faculty, staff, and students within the program and communicate the interpretation of departmental and University policies, procedures, and guidelines.

About the Division of Neonatology.
The nationally recognized Division of Neonatology is committed to providing innovative, comprehensive, high-quality care from our team that results in the best outcomes for infants cared for in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Each year, approximately 950 babies receive a range of neonatal services in the 88-bed NICU, Iowa’s only Level IV NICU that has been consistently ranked among the top NICUs in the country for over 10 years.
The program is home to world leading programs in both neonatal hemodynamics and extreme prematurity.
The scope and expertise of divisional neonatologists and pediatric colleagues is such that they are resourced to provide a level of care and services unavailable in most NICUs, including subspecialty neonatal hemodynamics, neurocritical care and extreme prematurity programs, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis.
Education Requirements
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications (Microsoft Suites).
Desired Qualifications
1-3 years of related administrative support experience.
Experience with grants.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of academic medicine.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and regulations.
