The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Downtown Campus department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a Clinical Dietitian II or a Clinical Dietitian I to plan therapeutic diets as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with regulatory agencies.
Completes screenings, nutritional assessments, and nutrition education with patients/clients.
Functions as member of multidisciplinary team.
Participates in inpatient, outpatient, and community health programs.

Other Duties:
Provides quality patient care including nutrition screening, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and documentation of patient care plan appropriate for patient.
Assesses nutrition status and instructs/counsels patient on appropriate diet.
Participate as part of the medical team concerning problems affecting patients' food habits and needs and participate in health team rounds concerning patient care.
Assist in the implementation of studies and short-term projects.
Performs special projects as assigned.
Participates as active member of departmental/hospital committees.
Review and analyze production, maintenance of standards, costs and personnel utilization records to evaluate progress of work and to control or reduce costs.
Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
Assists other dietitians as needed.
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Downtown Campus intends to hire one positions at either the Clinical Dietitian I classification or Clinical Dietitian II classification, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Clinical Dietitian I and Clinical Dietitian II: A Master's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Clinical Dietitian I and Clinical Dietitian II: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Clinical Dietitian II: 5 years of clinical nutrition experience
Clinical Dietitian II: Demonstrated competency of patient care in pediatric and adult population
Clinical Dietitian II: Must demonstrate experience working effectively in a diverse environment
Certifications (Clinical Dietitian I and Clinical Dietitian II)
Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required
Licensure by the State of Iowa is required
