Sena Chae’s research team, which focuses on studying symptom experiences and outcomes of patients with acute leukemia.
Dr.
Chae’s research involves applying advanced data analyses to identify risk factors associated with unplanned readmissions using a large amount of electronic health record (EHR) data from adult patients with acute leukemia.
The successful applicant will work remotely on multiple projects.
Time requirement is minimal and for up to 8 hours a week depending on work availability and schedules.
Goal of someone that can start as soon as possible through the summer at this time.
Key responsibilities include: Conducting Epic chart reviews for unplanned readmissions.
Cleaning data related to chemotherapy medications.
Contributing to manuscripts, project management.
Mentoring new staff under direction.
General duties include: Conducting Epic chart reviews: Reviewing EHR clinical notes to classify planned vs.
unplanned readmissions in patients with AML.
Assist with data management using Microsoft Excel.
Assisting in preparing presentations and publications.
Presenting results at team meetings; may also present at local and national meetings.
Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of nursing experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
Excellent time management and attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications: Currently a staff nurse at UIHC.
A nurse in a cancer unit (at least PRN).
Experience in caring for hematologic cancer patients is highly desirable.
Experience in writing and updating processes and procedures.
Experience in supervising students.
