Community and Family Resources is currently seeking a Counselor to provide evaluations and group services to the patients in our Detox Program in Iowa City.
This position is located in a community access center called the GuideLink Center, which provides urgent counseling and substance use services to members of our community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists clients in completion of necessary assessment forms/documents.
Conducts individual assessment sessions for completion of psychosocial histories of clients.
Participates with Program Supervisor in development of recommendations for clients.
Prepares and distributes assessment results, reports, etc.
as required and requested.
Provides clients and families with referral resources for the services not provided by the agency or when agency services are inappropriate.
Facilitates groups as required and provides follow-up services.
Schedule:
Type: Full-time
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30a-5p
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution, preferably in the social or behavioral sciences is required.
Three years of experience as a full-time substance use and/or gambling treatment counselor can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Upon hire, is a requirement of the position that the employee will seek certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) as soon as the person can meet the qualifications per the Iowa Board of Certification standards.
