General Job Summary/ Position Concept   Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County (NCJC) is currently seeking a Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to join their Executive Leadership Team.
The organization is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals in low-income neighborhoods through education, self-efficacy, family strengthening, and community building programs.
The CBDO will develop essential relationships with internal teams, corporate, municipal, board-level, and private entities to ensure the growth and sustainability of the organization.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and other members of the NCJC Leadership Team to develop strategies to develop and secure fee-for-services, contracts, annual appeals, planned giving, and donor-directed gifts.
The CBDO will also be responsible for maintaining and strengthening public and private support for NCJC through public presentations, media relations, board engagements, steering committees, and networking to increase awareness and financial support for NCJC’s mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Business & Fund Development: Oversee the implementation of a successful fund development strategy to support organizational and project development needs, including: * Participate in annual budgeting and assist with the development of an annual fundraising plan with target goals, strategies, and timeline by source (e.
g.
individual donations, events, grants, major gifts, etc.
) to support the organization’s immediate and long-term revenue strategy to sustain and expand  * Build relationships with local, regional, and national funders in partnership with the Executive Director * Direct and improve NCJC Stakeholder Engagement strategy to engage stakeholders in NCJC’s mission and vision, which includes gift acknowledgement, communication, site visits, etc.
* Build relationships with funding partners and individual donors through in-person and virtual meetings, written, and oral communications * Lead site visits with funding partners and major givers * Prospect and pursue new donors and funding opportunities, including building paid service models * Collaborate with development team in the design and implementation of donor campaigns (direct mail, e-campaigns, major gifts, etc.
) * Create compelling boilerplate language for grant proposals and reports in collaboration with development team members * Research and identify new and expanded funding sources and opportunities * Ensure that all grant proposal and reporting deadlines are tracked and met * Direct build-out and maintenance of data management systems to ensure NCJC’s funder reporting, and donor appreciation needs are met * Develop relationships that support major giving, fundraising and partnership development * Lead the grant application and reporting processes for grants and contracts and supervise writing, submitting, and securing general operating and capacity building grants * Initiate new ways to generate revenue by building and expanding NCJC’s network of donors on a year-round basis * Research and identify new public and private funding opportunities for NCJC initiatives * Measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts, establishing benchmarks and using analytics to inform decisions * Work with Board of Director’s to review, monitor and assess fund raising programs, and identify meaningful ways for Board members to participate in revenue-generating activities Participate in NCJC leadership and team management * Identify, respond to, and participate in professional development opportunities to increase skills and knowledge regarding NCJC’s operations and development * Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop strategic vision, annual fundraising goals, and organizational budgets * Represent the organization in public settings * Attend weekly management meetings and quarterly all-staff gatherings and participate, facilitate and lead trainings and reviews * Contribute to a collaborative working environment that strives for excellence in service * Provide leadership to strengthen and grow NCJC * Other duties as assigned Job Type: Full-time Pay: $68,000.
