The Iowa Heartlanders are offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced sales manager to lead a completely revamped ticket sales team to one of the biggest turnarounds in ECHL history! The Heartlanders play in Xtream Arena, a new facility (opened November 2020) with a capacity of 5,000 in the heart of the Iowa River Landing entertainment district, located less than two miles from the University of Iowa campus.
The Director of Ticket Sales will serve as the strategic, revenue-driving, and retention lead for all ticketing initiatives.
In this role, you will maximize ticket revenue and sell-thru, provide outstanding service, develop best practices, and recruit, train and lead our sales team to maximize revenue and provide our fans with first class service.
You’ll have a staff of five ticket salespeople, four of which you'll get to hire immediately.
You’ll work side by side with the new team President, the new Director of Marketing, and will have league office support to develop the ticket sales strategy and plan.
This position is a full-time position based in Coralville, Iowa.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all season, group, and single ticket sales and retention efforts to obtain overall revenue and attendance goals
Recruit, train coach and empower a high-performing sales team
Establish and implement forward-thinking sales strategies for pricing structure, as well as sales processes, reporting, and presentations
Create innovative programs to drive new business and expand audience
Develop, lead and inspire a positive team culture focusing on cross collaboration
Establish and manage department P&L to ensure accuracy and year-to-date tracking
Direct overarching retention strategy for season ticket holders
Establish and refine opportunities and experiences provided to season ticket members
Participate in community and industry-related events, conferences, associations that will enhance our reputation and potential for success while building new relationships
Serve as an internal advocate for Iowa Heartlanders ticket sales and service efforts

Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
3+years in sports and entertainment sales (or related experiential marketing role)
Proven leadership experience
Proficiency with Paciolan and the Microsoft Office suite
Strong experience in establishing and eclipsing ambitious revenue targets
Understanding of analytics, research, reporting, measurement, revenue modeling, valuation modeling and industry benchmarking
Strong leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization and throughout the community
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate and influence
Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment
Time Commitment
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends are required)
